Trace Adkins is not a good guy in his new movie, Traded. The singer emphasizes that it is not a movie for kids before talking, with a smile on his face, about his character's fate. Insert a big fat Spoiler Alert here.

“I get hung in this movie, so it’s the first time I get killed in a movie,” Adkins said before his set at Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colo., in June. “It’s pretty cool.”

Adkins played a bad guy in The Lincoln Lawyer, a 2011 movie that starred Matthew McConaughey. But his character was at least a man of values in that film. In Traded, a just-released movie that also stars Tom Sizemore and Kris Kristofferson, Adkins plays Ty Stover, one of the henchmen of a brothel owner played by Sizemore. Previews of the movie that include Adkins are not for the timid. The Western is set in Kansas in the late 19th century.

When told people may start to become intimidated by Adkins if he continues playing these evil characters, he offers no consolation. “Wait ‘till you see what I do to Wahlberg,” he says, referring to Deepwater Horizon, a movie starring Mark Wahlberg that's based on the 2010 oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. “Sling him around pretty good.”

According to IMDB, Deepwater Horizon will be released on Sept. 30. Adkins has just released a new single, "Lit," to country radio.
