It’s time for Toby Keith to raise a red solo cup in the air and celebrate! The country singer just smashed an attendance record for an event that’s been in existence since 1950. So what record did Mr. Keith topple?

He broke the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo attendance record, that’s what!

He sold out the venue and attracted the biggest crowd to the event since it began back in 1950. That he was able to draw the largest audience in the event’s 63-year history is pretty impressive and is a testament to Keith’s appeal.

Perhaps Keith can keep the streak going and break records at his next performance, which will be the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He is set to perform on Feb. 25.

In other Keith news, the ‘I Like Girls That Drink Beer’ singer will be presented with an official certificate from the Office of the Governor declaring him an honorary Texan! Keith is a native of Oklahoma, which is nestled right atop the Lone Star State, so we don’t think the two neighboring states will mind sharing him! This honor will be bestowed upon Keith at an event on Sunday, March 3, as part of the Texas Heritage Songwriters’ Hall of Fame Weekend.

Past Honorary Texans include Bob Hope and Bob Dylan, so Keith is in good company with this new “Texan” status.

Keith will perform in honor of songwriter Roger Miller, as well. “Roger Miller was so intelligent that many of the greats would follow him around just for inspiration, just to hear him talk. He said some of the most famous quotes ever,” the singer said. “If you want to hear cleverness, you want to hear wit, and you want to hear charm – you want to hear a’‘Class A’ songwriter, it’s Roger Miller.”
