This Weekend in the Sioux Empire

Looks like a rainy, slushy, snowy weekend in the Sioux Empire. Perfect weekend for Summit League basketball, the Home Show and these other fun activities:

• THE MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SUMMIT LEAGUE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS…Friday through Tuesday at the Sioux Falls Arena.

• SIOUX EMPIRE HOME SHOW…at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.  Over 200 home related exhibits all under one roof.  Free hourly workshops, plus cooking demos by local chefs.  Hours are 10am-9pm Friday and Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday.  Admission is $7 for adults, kids 12 and under get in free.

• MARKET MANIA…this Saturday from 10am-2pm at Globe University, 5101 S. Broadband.  Shop over 20 vendors like Scentsy, Tastefully Simple, Simply Said, Origami Owl and more.  Admission is free.  Bring your pets for a FREE nail trim.  Pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.

Looking ahead to next week:

• ST. BALDRICK’S HEAD-SHAVING EVENT…Wednesday at 5pm at the Pizza Ranch on 41^st Street.  More than 100 people will shave their heads to raise money to conquer childhood cancer.  Sign up to participate. 

• PUMPS, PEARLS, PURSES WILD SAFARI NIGHT…Thursday from 5:30-10:00pm at Callaway’s Event Center.  A girl’s-only fundraiser to benefit the Junior League of Sioux Falls.  There will be unique menus, fun games, shopping, silent auction and more.  Animal print attire is recommended.  Tickets are $40.
