Do you like to fish? Do you think you have what it takes to catch 'the big one?' Travel just a little over two-hours west of Sioux Falls to find the walleye tournament that could be for you. Registration is still open for the 19th Annual Platte Chamber Walleye Fishing Tournament Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2, 2015 at the Snake Creek Recreation Area.

The walleye tournament kicks off Friday, May 1 with a social hour and light meal from 6PM-7PM followed by a rules meeting and Calcutta. All anglers are required to attend the meeting.

Fishing is Saturday, May 2 from 7AM to 4PM followed by an awards banquet at 7PM at the Yellow Rose. Door prizes and trophies will be awarded during the banquet.

Entry fees vary depending on the number of anglers on a team, and even though the deadline for mailed entries has passed, registration can be done on-line. It's encouraged to enter as soon as possible however, as the tournament has completely filled in the past.

The team payouts will total $16,000 based on a maximum of 99 teams entered.
