Here's a few of the stories that had Sioux Falls and surrounding area talking this week:

The Sioux Falls school district has plans on the table to spend more than $7 million over the next two years to update technology used by students. The plan calls for 17,500 new Google Chromebooks for Sioux Falls students in grade 3-12 next year, and 5,300 Apple iPads for students in grades K-2 in 2014-15.

The largest meth bust in Sioux Falls history went down earlier this week after a call from a  hotel worker to police. Apparently, a woman left a little more than $87,000 in a mattress and left the hotel. After an investigation and warrants served, Sioux Falls police were able to seize $94,000 and over 9 pounds of meth. Street value of the meth is around $500,000. 3 people are facing multiple charges in the incident. I can understand forgetting a cell phone charger in a hotel room but $87,000?

A Sioux Falls police officer saw a woman holding a leash and trying to control a Pit Bull near downtown. It was trying to chase an 8-year-old boy. The officer stopped and got the boy to safety behind a fence. The officer then tried to put the pit bill in the back of his patrol car the dog bit him on the hand. The officer shot the dog, and was later euthanized. The incident caused several opinions to be posted on social media boards.

A new smoking ban is to go into effect in Sioux Falls. In my opinion, it's a no-brainer. City parks, playgrounds, and kids sporting events are no place for tobacco use. Get the full details on the upcoming smoking and tobacco use ban for the city.

Viral Video of the Week: Our 8-year-old daughter came to us one night and told us our 2-year-old was taking stuff at night out of her room. We told her to ... just lock the door. A couple nights later she told us he had opened the lock on his door. We were VERY skeptical so we set up the camera in the hall to see what would happen.
