Tea Woman Robbed for Good Deed
Information Officer Sam Clemens says the 25-year-old woman was driving on Minnesota Avenue around 3:30am Saturday when she saw a woman walking and offered her a ride. That's when things turned bad.
“The passenger said that she needed to get out, so the driver stopped. The passenger then pulled out a knife and demanded cash from the driver."
The suspect was described as a Native American female, five feet tall and weighing around 120 pounds.
2 Teens Arrested for Roosevelt Robbery
Two teens have been arrested and accused accused of stealing cellphones and wallets out of the Roosevelt High School locker room during a football practice. A school resource officer identified them through surveillance video as they were leaving the school.
Man Says Woman Pushed Him Off Wall
A man tells Sioux Falls police that a woman pushed him off a retaining wall between 8th and 9th streets on Friday night. it was a 15 - 18 foot drop that left the man with possible fractures and cuts. The victim, a Sioux Falls transient, was intoxicated and couldn’t tell police who the suspect was.
Robbers Relieve Man of Pants and Phone
Earlier this week, robbers allegedly relieved a man of his phones, a wallet, and pants. The victim was forced from the vehicle after being offered a ride home from a bar by two men. Police were notified shortly after the victim showed up at a nearby house without pants early Sunday morning.
City Gets Ready for Tim McGraw
The city is getting ready for the sold-out concert by Brantley Gilbert and Tim McGraw, Saturday night at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Over 10,000 tickets have been sold for the general admission event. Also performing Saturday Night is Sheryl Crow at Jazz Fest and officials are expecting 10's of thousands of fans to that show, as well. REO Speedwagon will take to the stage at the same time as these acts at the Grand falls Casino.
300 lb. Bear Stolen from South Dakota Hotel
A 300 lb. bear that graced the entrance of a Rapid City, SD. hotel has apparently been stolen. The Best Western Ramkota Hotel reported the unofficial greeter stolen earlier this week. A security staff, maintenance crew, and a front desk clerk were on duty at the time of the theft. If seen on top of a station wagon, stop laughing and call authorities in Rapid City immediately.
