According to multiple reports, the New York Knicks have hired Jeff Hornacek as their new head coach.

The search was lengthy and included many candidates such as Kurt Rambis, David Blatt and Frank Vogel.

Ultimately though the Knicks brass including the Zen Master himself Phil Jackson decided Hornacek would be the right fit to try and rebuild this once great franchise.

Hornacek was a very solid player having his most success while playing along side Karl Malone and John Stockton in Utah with the Jazz.

Hornacek was let go by the Phoenix Suns in February after the team lost 19 of 21 games and 14 straight road games in deflating fashion.

In his first two seasons however, Hornacek did experience some success going 87-77.

In Phoenix, Hornacek ran a fast paced offense that fit the personnel in place with the Suns, so moving forward, will he curtail his offense to the personnel in place in New York or will the personnel be moved about to fit the fast paced nature of his offenses in Phoenix.

And where will the "triangle" offense that Phil Jackson so highly regards fit into all of this as well?  Going to be fun to see it all play out.
