Teen Killed in Mitchell Apartment Fire

MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a teen killed in an apartment fire in Mitchell.

The Daily Republic reports that 18-year-old Tylor Kostrzewski died in the early morning fire on Thursday. He was a student and the Mitchell Technical Institute.

Authorities say Kostrzewski was a Kimball native and lived on the second floor of the three-story house that was converted into apartments.

Authorities say two residents of the building were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation and burns.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
