Police solved a robbery within the same day, thanks to a tip from the watchful eye of a homeowner.

A man noticed a vehicle that seemed suspicious before he was leaving for the day. When returning a few hours later, the man discovered the side door to his garage had been forced open and his family's jewelry, electronics and other items were missing. Authorities took the report and began their investigation of the theft on Mandy Court in Sioux Falls.

Several hours later, the homeowner noticed the same suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway of a home about a block away and called police.  As officers arrived to the 600 block of South Cain Avenue, they saw the stolen jewelry and other items through the windows of the parked car.

Police discovered one of the occupants of the home, a 17 year old, had the car and the stolen goods.  Charges are pending.
