At Martinsville Speedway the race winner at NASCAR’s highest level has received a grandfather clock. Jimmie Johnson now has 8 of those timepieces after blowing away the field in Sunday’s STP Gas Booster 500.
It had been almost two years since the last patented acrobatic flip following a Carl Edwards win in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. However, Edwards won the race off pit road with 75 laps left and had enough fuel to endure a little overtime to hold off Jimmie Johnson to win the Subway Fresh Fit 500.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Enough with the snarky comments about Danica Patrick. She deserves to be here. That was evident for 199 laps at the Daytona 500 on Sunday.
