Senate Minority Leader Billie Sutton announced from a stage on his ranch his next political intentions for the State of South Dakota.  The Democratic State Senator says he will run for Governor.

The Burke resident has been a member of the Legislature since 2011.  The investment consultant and former rodeo rider had hinted at the possibility of a run for Governor in the past.

A number of issues were addressed in Sutton’s announcement, including more funding and programs for public education.  Sutton’s website, Sutton for SD dot com, talks of taking on what he says is the status quo to build a better economy, improve healthcare, support agriculture, strengthen education and clean up corruption in the state government.
