Stolen Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Meth Arrests in Sioux Falls

Police say two men were arrested in Sioux Falls over the weekend after they were allegedly spotted in a stolen vehicle that was found to have components for making meth inside.

Officer Sam Clemens says the owner of the vehicle had told police the vehicle was stolen last Thursday from 10th and Cliff, and on Sunday afternoon he reported seeing it headed north on Marion Road with two men in it.

Clemens says the vehicle was found near Tabor Place and Thad Place, and the men were located in that area.

He says 21-year-old Alex Lankford of Sioux Falls and 33-year-old Tyler Hausten, described as a transient, were arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated eluding, possession of a controlled substance, manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Clemens says the drug charges stemmed from the components of a portable meth lab that police found in the vehicle.
