Wednesday morning, the South Dakota Highway Patrol responded to a report of a vehicle on it's side in the James River north of Forestburg, SD in Sanborn County.

When the Trooper arrived he could not tell if anyone was in the vehicle. He went into the river and broke out the windows to see if it was occupied. No person was found in the vehicle on in the water around it.

The SDHP later learned that the vehicle had been stolen the night before. The investigation is ongoing.
