SIOUX FALLS, SD -- The Sioux Falls Stampede are thrilled to announce their 15th anniversary, 2013-14 regular season schedule.

All USHL teams will play an unbalanced 60 game schedule (30 home, 30 away) from mid-September to early April. The season begins on September 21st in Des Moines and concludes on April 5th at home against Omaha. The playoffs are slated to begin the following week with the top four teams from each conference qualifying.

This year’s schedule is very family friendly with 28 of the 30 home dates being played on weekends. 13 games will be played on Fridays, 12 on Saturdays and three on Sundays. In addition, the Stampede will play two home games on Tuesday nights.

The defending Western Conference regular season champions will start the season on the road when they face Western Conference rival Des Moines on Saturday, September 21st at Buccaneer Arena in Urbandale, IA. The Herd’s home opener is set for Friday, October 4th at 7:05 PM against the Omaha Lancers.

Other highlights of the home schedule include Saturday, October 26th when the Herd face the Fargo Force in a rematch of the Western Conference Finals. The Stampede will square off against Fargo nine times (5 home, 4 away) this season, more than any other team. Arch rival Sioux City makes their first appearance at the Sioux Falls Arena on Saturday, November 9th.  The Stampede will play Sioux City a total of eight times (4 home, 4 away).

Sioux Falls will host the defending Clark Cup champion Dubuque Fighting Saints on Black Friday (November 29th) and fans can ring in the New Year a little early on December 29th when the Herd entertain Fargo.

In a drastic change from last year, the Herd will play 12 of their first 15 games on the road and 19 of their 30 home games after Christmas. The league will not play any games the weekend of December 20-21st for the holidays.

"We are thrilled with our schedule this season,” said Stampede President/CEO Tom Garrity. “Our home games are spread out well and playing 28 of our 30 games on weekends will make it easier for our fans to enjoy Stampede hockey. Coming off a record setting season and this being our 15th anniversary season, there are many reasons for fans to be excited.”
