Taser Sports Bet Sentencing UPDATE [VIDEO]
Remember the story of the husband and wife that placed a sports wager that involved a taser? Well, the fists of justice have come down on the Chicago man.
John Grant pled no contest to disorderly conduct and was fined $250 for using a taser on his wife’s thigh and back-side. Originally, Grant could have faced jail time on this sports wager between the married couple that happened after the Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears game on Monday, November 4, 2013.
Nicole Grant (the Packers fan) told her husband he could use a taser on her if the Bears beat the Packers. The Packers did lose to her husband’s favorite team, the Bears, so John Grant used the taser three times on his wife before she called the police. The reason for the call was because she didn’t actually think her husband would do it. He did, and it’s costing him $250.
When people wager on their favorite team, it might be a good idea to think through the entire bet before accepting. To prove this, a husband and wife’s friendly sports wager could land half of the happy couple in jail.
A husband/wife wager on the Monday night football game between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers had stakes that were much greater than having one spouse do all the housework or wash their spouse’s car. The winner of this bet would get to use a taser on the loser.
After the close game between the Bears and the Packers on Monday, November 4, John Grant (the Bears fan) used a stun gun to send a few thousand volts into his Packer fan wife’s butt and her thigh.
After administering the jolts, his Packer loving wife called the police who quickly responded. But even though the wife had said yes to the wager, the police arrested the husband, who could now face up to six years in prison for using the weapon.
