Demons from the past circled, but the Sioux Falls Skyforce performed the exorcism in a victory over the Oklahoma City Blue 108-100 on Wednesday night.

In each of the three tussles this season, Sioux Falls (23-14) had built big leads only to see them evaporate. Twice before Oklahoma City (26-12) overcame those deficits to sink the Skyforce.

On this night, the ghosts returned when Blue scored 15 straight to take the lead 92-89 with just over 6 minutes to go. Four minutes later, the ‘Force had created the disturbance of a 10-0 run of their own to seize control. Over the final two minutes a mixture of hitting enough free throws plus a thunderous dunk by Denver Nuggets assignee Malik Beasley put an end to a three game skid.

Patrick Miller turned in his best Briante Weber impersonation with a near triple-double of 26 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Beasley turned in a beastly performance of 23 points and 10 boards and Bubu Palo scored 20.

The Oklahoma City point tally was a bit more balanced with Dakari Johnson’s 18 points with 14 rebounds leading the way. Reggie Williams supplied 16 points as Dez Wells and Jannero Pargo each added a dozen.

Sioux Falls will have another battle to come going back-to-back off the All-Star break at Austin Thursday (February 23). The Blue wait until Friday for a waltz into Texas against the Legends.
