The Banquet is a place where people can gather without judgement, in safety, share a hot meal and if they so choose, fellowship. Volunteers are the lifeblood of this organization and during the remaining summer months there is a great need for groups to help out with serving breakfast and evening meals, as many regular volunteers leave for family vacations.

Last year The Banquet served 180,500 meals and provided 6,700 backpacks filled with school supplies for children in the Sioux Falls area. These astounding feats of generosity would have been impossible without an amazing crew of volunteers. The time that you commit to serving others is a gift you give to yourself.

The ways you can get involved in supporting The Banquet and its quiet, yet powerful mission, are many and varied. Families, church groups, service clubs and business groups have all given time serving meals and dining with patrons at this place of hope. Each group prepares, serves and enjoys the meal, then cleans up afterwards. But even if you are an individual not affiliated with a group who would like to volunteer, there is a place for you!

The Banquet also has a number of volunteer positions that do not involve the meal ministry, including handymen (or women), people to run errands, answer phones, sort mail and participate in special events like Project S.O.S. and the Chilifest.
