Listen to some of these totals as of 2:00 p.m. These are snowfall amounts and they are stagggering.  Hot Springs, 28", Deadwood 30" Spearfish 19" Rapid City 20", and the Airport in Rapid City had 25".

Miller had picked up just over 8 inches of snow.

Tonight, Sioux Falls is expecting around 8 inches of fresh wet snow.  It will come with wind and couple that with our already icy conditions and we will see additional power outages.

I'm sure the rest of the state is watching and wondering 'what's going on in Sioux Falls.'  We've had a load of freezing rain and now there is talk that with the addition of expected snowfall tonight, that we may see unprecedented power outages.

Now is a good time to locate your flashlights.  Now is a good time to locate a small radio that runs on batteries.  Now is a good time to plug your cellular devices in and get them fully charged.

Now would also be a good opportunity to check on elderly neighbors to see if they have everything they need to stay comfortable as we weather this storm out.

I-29 remains closed from 41st street to the Harrisburg Exit.

In a word folks, this storm is impressive.  Let's respect it.
