#1 South Dakota Teacher
With the ability to inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities, have the respect of students, parents, and colleagues and play a positive role not only in the classroom but the community LuAnn Lindskov of Timber Lake School District has been named the South Dakota Teacher of the Year.
She was chosen Thursday at the state education conference and will go on to represent South Dakota for the National Teacher of the Year which will be announced in April. Lindskov will receive $9,000 in cash prizes and a $7,000 technology package to use in her classroom.
Other outstanding teachers up for South Dakota Teacher of the Year were Tammy Jo Schlechter of the Custer School District, from the Mitchell School District-Sonya Fossum, Mindy Foltz of the Rosholt School District, Donna DeKraai of the Brookings School District.
