There is no doubt over the last couple of years police have been the main topic in our country. That being said, CNN.com recently did a article that is eye raising. It shows that some states require more training time to become a barber than a police officer.

So I did some digging and found out that it is actually true!

For the state of South Dakota, to acquire a barbers license you need to complete 1500 hours of training according to barber-license.com. As for a career as a police officer, you only need to complete 520 hours to obtain the basic certification according to howtobecomeapoliceofficernow.com.

Not only that, but many trade jobs require more hours of training time to get a license than it takes to get a police badge. Does police training in the US need to change?
