The University of South Dakota's basketball teams are about to embark on a pair of quite lengthy road trips.

The men's basketball team is heading to Spain. The women are going to Australia.

The Coyotes men depart August 3, 2016 for a 10-day trip Barcelona, San Sebastian, Vitoria, Trevino and Madrid.

Head Coach Craig Smith:

We are excited and thankful to our administration for this opportunity to take a foreign tour to Spain. Trips like this are a valuable time to build relationships and grow team chemistry. Our entire program is anxious to experience the Spanish culture while competing against professional teams from around the world.

During the trip, will play four exhibition games.

The USD women head down under, August 7, for a 12-day trip. The visit includes stops in Melbourne, Cairnes and Sydney.

Head Coach Dawn Plitzuweit:

This is an incredible opportunity for our program," said South Dakota head coach  "We are thrilled to have this time together while we prepare to depart and especially while we are traveling as a group down under. The time that we are fortunate enough to spend together in basketball is tremendous and will be greatly enhanced by our bonding off the court. This truly is a trip of a lifetime!

The Coyotes will play a trio of exhibition games, facing the Melbourne Boomers of the Women's National Basketball League, the Hornsby Spiders and the Victoria Metro Elite.
