South Dakota Judge Will Decide Fate of Former Elvis Presley Guitar
The future of a guitar played by the late Elvis Presley lies in the hands of a South Dakota judge.
U.S. District Judge, Karen Schreier, will decide if the King's former guitar should be returned to a Tennessee-based collector named Larry Moss.
Blues guitarist and memorabilia broker Robert Johnson, donated the guitar to the National Music Museum in Vermillion, South Dakota back in 2013.
Moss claims to be the rightful owner of the former Presley guitar and wants the museum to return it to him.
Johnson rejects Moss's claims and hasn't responded to his lawsuit.
Presley played the guitar during a tour he was doing back in 1977, it became damaged, so he ended up giving it to a fan in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Elvis passed away six months later.
A trial regarding the former Presley guitar was held on Tuesday, August 3, 2016. Schreier has yet to rule on the case.
