The University of South Dakota men's basketball team is one of four teams from around the nation heading to the Sanford Pentagon Showcase during the 2017-18 season.

The Coyotes, Youngstown State, Southern Mississippi and Northern Colorado make up the field in the three-day event at the Sanford Pentagon, November 24-26.

Each team will square off against each other in a round-robin format.

USD won its first-ever Summit League regular season title last year, finishing 22-12 overall. The Coyotes were eliminated by Iowa in the opening round on the NIT.

Youngstown State, out of the Horizon League, finished 13-21 last season, after advancing to the semifinals of the conference tournament.

Conference USA's Southern Miss went 9-22 last season. The Golden Eagles are led by former Nebraska head coach Doc Sadler.

Northern Colorado, from the Big Sky Conference, finished 11-18 in 2016-17.

The Sanford Pentagon Showcase begins with Southern Miss, Northern Colorado and Youngstown State playing opening round games on their home floors.

Southern Miss will host Blue Mountain (Mississippi), November 20. While on November 21 Northern Colorado will host Northern New Mexico College and Youngstown State will host Westminster (Pennsylvania), November 21.

The event then moves to Sioux Falls.
