Last year South Carolina saw its season end in Sioux Falls, SD at the Sweet 16 and this year that disappointment turned into motivation for the Gamecocks.

This year, South Carolina saw their season end in Dallas as National Champions in a 67-55 win over Mississippi State.

Many thought that the women of Mississippi State wouldn't be denied after their heroic win on Friday night over UConn, but it was too much A'ja Wilson and South Carolina on Sunday.

Wilson would go on to win the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four Award as well.

South Carolina's head coach Dawn Staley went to the Final Four three times as a player, only to have heartbreak each and every time.  This time however it was as joyous as it could be as she won her first title as a player or as a coach.
