A tight battle loosened up at the end and the Westchester Knicks topped the Sioux Falls Skyforce 107-94 Friday night at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.

There is so much talent in the NBADL, the teams that can execute late in games will capture a lot of wins. That has been the formula for the Knicks (3-0) in every one of their games so far.

With 6:31 left, Keith Benson of the Skyforce (0-2) completed a three-point play to trim the Westchester lead to 90-87. Three minutes later the score was 100-88 courtesy of good free throw shooting, a jumper and a tip-in that provided the separation.

From an overall perspective Sioux Falls shot better from the floor (47-44 percent) and with a slight rebounding edge to the Knicks (47-45). The great disparity came from the turnovers as the ‘Force gave it up 21 times compared to 13 for Westchester.

Leading six players in double figures for the Knicks is former Skyforce guard Sean Marshall with 20 points followed by forward DaJuan Summers who had 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 steals before leaving late in the game because of a serious foot injury.

Sioux Falls got 19 points from Tre Kelley, 17 points and 7 rebounds from Byron Mullens (highlight package below) with DeAndre Liggins contributing 14 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals.

Both teams will be back on the court Saturday night. Game two of the three-game road trip for the Skyforce continues in Erie. Meanwhile the Knicks will play their first road game of the season at Canton.
