The awards continue to come in for the Sioux Falls Skyforce and their organization this year.

On Saturday, Sioux Falls Skyforce General Manager and Miami Heat Assistant General Manager Adam Simon was named the winner of the NBA Developmental League Basketball Executive of the Year Award.

This is the inaugural year of the award and he was selected by his fellow NBA D-League basketball executives.

Simon is a great basketball mind and has a tireless work ethic that clearly has paid dividends this year for the Skyforce who set an NBA D-League record with 40 wins.

He has a knack for evaluating talent and has been able to learn under some of the greats in basketball from Heat GM Andy Elisburg to the great Pat Riley.

Simon has served as the Skyforce General Manager since the team went into the hybrid affiliation with Miami and Sioux Falls.

Simon can be credited with acquiring Jarnell Stokes again after he was traded from Miami to Memphis and eventually waived by the Grizzlies.

He also hired Dan Craig to be head coach this year and Craig has since gone on to win the NBA D-League Coach of the Year award this season as well.

Adam Simon will receive his trophy prior to the Skyforce’s Eastern Conference Finals game against the Canton Charge on Sunday, April 17th at the Sanford Pentagon.

Tip-off for Game 2 is at 5pm and will be on ESPNU and will be on radio on AM 1140 KSOO in Sioux Falls.
