NBA training camps are almost a month away with fourteen Sioux Falls Skyforce alums preparing to hone their talents for the upcoming season.

Coming off a championship season, many members of the squad have worked that exposure to their advantage. Rodney McGruder and DeAndre Liggins join two other former members of the ‘Force who need to fight hard to make it out of training camp.

Miami will have to cut loose a few players as they had 20 in camp and can carry a maximum of 15 for the regular season which will have ramifications for McGruder. Liggins has a pretty good shot at making the Cavs roster as they have 14 players in late August.

UPDATE: Toure' Murry played with the Minnesota Timberwolves during Summer League and eventually signed with the team for the pre-season.

UPDATE #2: Reigning D-League MVP Jarnell Stokes following his Summer League showing with the San Antonio Spurs inked a training camp deal with Denver.

UPDATE #3: Greg Stiemsma who used a stellar 2009-10 season with the Skyforce to carve a path to the NBA signed with Portland for a training camp audition after a year off because of an achilles injury

UPDATE #4 Keith Benson last year joined the Heat in training camp and was then allocated to Sioux Falls. He was a solid year-long contributor to the title. The cycle begins again by being added to the Miami roster.

Two of the previous Sioux Falls stalwarts signed big contracts in the off-season. Hassan Whiteside and Tyler Johnson were both locked up by the Miami Heat for just shy of a combined $150 million.

Meanwhile another three will battle to establish their roles with their respective teams. Plus Shabazz Napier is playing for his third organization in three years after being traded from Orlando to Portland.

Will all ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen be able to land on a roster in The Association? The picture will be much more clear in late October.
