Skyforce Blast Energy With Help from Miami Assignees Napier and Whiteside

Different night with different players produces a different result as the Sioux Falls Skyforce rebounded from a tough loss on Friday to steamroll the Iowa Energy one night later 124-105.  

You could call it an extended layover in Des Moines for guard Shabazz Napier and center Hassan Whiteside as the Miami Heat schedule allowed for two more Heat members to get game action at the NBA Development League level.  The Heat played Friday night at Utah with a day in between games before hooking up with the Bulls at home on Sunday.  Thus Napier and Whiteside each put on a Skyforce uniform and got some work done.  Take your pick of watching Napier's night above or Whiteside's below.

Napier didn’t start, but played 30 minutes and scored 22 points with 3 assists.  Whiteside’s  body of work included 21 points (on 10-11 shooting), 12 rebounds, 4 blocks and 2 assists.  Lest we pass by the third Heat assignee Andre Dawkins who accumulated 17 points with 5 assists.  As a team Sioux Falls maintained a good stroke all game long finishing at 56 percent (48-86).  Adding to the intrigue, Whiteside was with Iowa for the first 3 games of the season before the Heat came calling.

That much firepower for Sioux Falls (4-6) was too much to handle for the Energy (5-4) who gave up the first 6 points of the game and never led.  Iowa did have Jordan Adams on assignment from the Memphis Grizzlies who contributed mightily with 29 points to lead all scorers to go with 9 rebounds.  Kalin Lucas was next with 21 points and 5 assists.  Damien Wilkins got no chance for late game heroics but did have 17 points, 4 assists and 3 boards while Jarrid Famous posted a double double of 14 points and 15 rebounds (including 8 offensive).  In total, the Energy grabbed 22 of their own missed shots on their way to shooting 38 percent on the night (40-106).

Sioux Falls is back on the hardwood Tuesday night to host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants with Iowa getting a longer layoff before a home clash with the Grand Rapids Drive on Friday.
