A female Sioux Falls newspaper delivery carrier was attacked from behind by a six foot woman in the 6300 Block of West 41st Street early Monday morning.

"Subject came out from behind," according to Police Sgt. Paul Creviston, "in an apartment complex and grabbed the woman from behind. During the course of this interaction between the two people, the victim was able to elbow the suspect in the mid section. The suspect ended up throwing the newspaper carrier to the ground. After all this was going on, the suspect ended up running away."

Creviston has this description of the suspect.

"She was a white or light skinned female with shoulder length dark colored hair and approximately six feet tall wearing dark sweats pants and sweat shirt."

Creviston says the victim suffered injuries to her shoulder and right hip.

Nothing was taken during the incident.
