A Sioux Falls woman's encounter with two officers working undercover turned into a prostitution case early Monday.

Officer Sam Clemens says the two Street Crimes officers were in plainclothes and driving an unmarked police car when they saw a woman walking in an alley near 12th Street and Spring Avenue around 1:30am.

The woman looked to be intoxicated and they saw her bend over, so they pulled up alongside her and asked if she was OK.

Clemens says that's when 45-year-old Julie Michele Carter propositioned the officers.

He says she was arrested for prostitution when she tried to get into the back seat of the officers' car.
