Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens says a Saturday Saturation Patrol produced results.

"We had 15 additional officers that were working Saturday night from 7:00 P.M. to 3:00 A.M. Sunday morning. The whole point of doing the Saturation Patrol is to look for impaired drivers and accident causing violations. The officers ended up writing over 200 different tickets. We had 6 DWI arrests, 28 speeding tickets and a whole host of other tickets as well."

Clemens says Sioux Falls motorists need to obey the law or risk being ticketed.

"The Saturation Patrol shows there is a problem out there. People need to obey the traffic laws that are on the books. By following them, we can reduce a lot of traffic related issues including crashes and injuries that come from those violations."

Clemens says the Saturday Saturation Patrol was not publicly announced.
