Hunters arriving at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport for the start of the pheasant season will have a chance to meet up with police officers.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says Sioux Falls Police will have a booth at the airport to give the hunters tips on how to keep their belongings safe while they hunt ringnecks.

Clemens says thefts of guns and other hunting equipment are reported each year, but he says most of the thefts can be prevented if the hunters remove their valuables from vehicles and lock the doors.

Clemens says this is the second year the SFPD has had a booth at the airport.

They are located near the baggage claim area at the terminal.
