If you leave your vehicle unlocked with the keys in the ignition (and the motor running), Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens has a story you need to read!

"We had a guy that popped into a gas station, left his truck running and went inside to grab something. As he was inside, two other guys came walking along and saw the opportunity. They jumped in the truck and drove away in it. We had an officer that found it and tried to stop it. But, these guys took off at a high rate of speed and ultimately crashed the truck. The owner was able to get the truck back.

That's when an arrest was made.

"We found one of the people involved. The victim did have some checks and a shotgun that were taken from the truck. We are still working on finding those items."

Clemens says 19-year-old Clayton Casey of Sioux Falls faces a number of  charges including theft from a vehicle, grand theft and false impersonation.

Authorities are still searching for the other person who was in the truck.
