Sioux Falls Police: Thief with Gun Rips off Vehicle

Sioux Falls Police Lieutenant Dave McIntire says a male with a gun ripped off a vehicle Wednesday night.

"Our victim was driving in the parking lot at 12th and Kiwanis which is known to some people as the Lewis lot. A silver car pulled in front of him and blocked his way," explained McIntire. "

When he got out to ask those individuals in the vehicle what was going on - an individual produced a black handgun and told the victim 'here is what's up.' The victim then fled the scene on foot. When he returned a few minutes later, his vehicle had been taken."

McIntire is asking the public's help in locating the thieves.

"If they have any information about people in the silver Malibu, please let us know. We don't have any descriptions of the people in the car. They were wearing masks and bandannas."

McIntyre encourages residents to call Crime Stoppers or 911 if they have details about the incident.
