UPDATE: Alice Mendel has been found and is unharmed.  She suffers from Alzheimer's disease and walked away from a relative's home around 4:00 a.m. on October 17, 2014.  She was found about three blocks away inside a car.  Alice found an unlocked car and went inside to keep warm.  She was found this morning shortly after 8:00 a.m. - Sioux Falls Police Department

Sgt. Huntimer and the Sioux Falls Police are asking for your help in finding an 83-year-old woman who has Alzheimer’s disease.

Alice Mendel of Sioux Falls was last seen at around 4:00 AM Friday at a relative’s home near 24th and Fairlane, which is north of 26th Street and west of Interstate 229. It is believed she left the residence on foot.

Alice was last seen wearing a black blazer top, and black pants.  It is believed that Alice is not wearing her glasses or shoes. She is white, 5-feet-9-inches tall, 130 pounds with gray curly hair.

If you do see Alice, call 911 but do not approach her as it may increase her alarmed state. Please keep an eye on her until police arrive.
