Two children were taken into protective custody after drug paraphernalia with residue on them was found in the home. The mother and two others were arrested.

Sioux Falls Police were called to 634 S. Dakota Avenue #3 at 3:11 PM Monday afternoon because a neighbor was concerned for the well-being of the residents. Captain Greg VandeKamp says upon arrival, police found the drug-related items.

Three people were arrested on various drug charges. Erin Rice, 37, of Sioux Falls lived at the apartment and is the mother of the two children. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance believed to be meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two visitors that were nabbed on the same charges were 32 year-old Regina Youngbear and 35 year-old Lola Bearstops both of Sioux Falls. Captain VandeKamp says there were small bags of drugs with residue in them recovered from the scene.

Police did not have a report on the ages of the children that were put in protective custody.
