Sioux Falls Police conducted a saturation patrol on Saturday that resulted in pulling over almost 300 drivers!

"We had 14 officers working from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M," according to police spokesman Sam Clemens. "During the course of that time, they ended up having 299 tickets that were written"

"The majority of the tickets were for speeding. We had 128 speeding tickets and there were also two DWI arrests that were made."

In light of the many tickets written by police officers, Clemens ways there will be more saturation patrols in Sioux Falls.

"Ultimately we would like to would like to send that many officers out and not write any tickets. This would show that everybody is obeying the rules. Unfortunately, we know there are a lot of people that speed and we still have impaired drivers day and night. Given the numbers of tickets we will continue with these saturation patrols in the future."

Aside from speeding and DWI tickets, Clemens says 19 tickets were written for seat belt violations along with 15 tickets for driver licenses violations.
