Sioux Falls Police Captain Greg Vandekamp says officers were dispatched to 518 North Cliff Avenue at 6:51 P.M. on Thursday in response to a stabbing.

"We did initially have conflicting stories of what happened. Our investigation revealed that the resident of the property stabbed the victim while he was standing on the porch."

Vandekamp says 48-year-old Edward Theobald of Sioux Falls was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. The victim, who was stabbed in the chest, is in stable condition.

In another police call, Vandekamp says police were called out to 308 South Summit on Thursday.

"In this case a local neighbor did see two individuals wrestling. The wrestling escalated to the point where the one person was punched multiple times in the head. He lost consciousness. The victim was then stomped on his head with the suspect's foot a number of times against the concrete sidewalk."

Vandekamp says 31-year-old Jonathon Packard of Sioux Falls was charged with aggravated assault. The victim, according to police, is doing all right.
