Sioux Falls Man Posts Facebook Video Brandishing Guns outside Religious Conference

A video posted on Facebook by a Sioux Falls man displaying a number of guns has caught the attention of a number of residents here in the Sioux Empire and is starting to catch the attention of people nationwide.

KDLT News is reporting that Ehab Jaber, created this video on April, 9 while sitting inside his vehicle after being asked to leave a conference on Christianity and Islam that was being held at the Hilton Garden Inn South in Sioux Falls.

According to the report, Jaber was armed while attending a rally with a number of other demonstrators who were protesting outside what they labeled an “anti-Muslim” gathering.

Sioux Falls Police told KDLT News that Jaber was spotted carrying a concealed weapon by a guard that was helping provide security at the event. The security guard immediately informed police who also had a presence at the conference. Authorities approached Jaber and informed him that firearms were not allowed inside the building and asked him to leave. Jaber complied, he then went outside and began filming the Facebook video from inside his vehicle.

The video shows Jaber brandishing a number of handguns and two assault style weapons, along with multiple magazines loaded with ammunition for the various guns. During the video, Jaber also tells viewers to “be scared,” but according to authorities, his words aren't enough to meet the criteria of being a threat.

Officer Sam Clemens with the Sioux Falls Police Department said, “He had a lot of guns with him, but he wasn’t breaking any laws. He didn’t threaten anybody directly, he didn’t threaten any groups of people anything like that and it’s not illegal to carry guns or have guns with you.”

Clemens went on to say, "You have to have some type of specific threat or manner, just having a gun just because it alarms people doesn’t constitute a threat. That doesn’t mean you are going to harm people.”

Authorities say Jaber was within his right to posses the guns due to the fact that he had both an open carry and concealed carry permit.

In addition to speaking with Sioux Falls authorities, Jaber was also questioned by the FBI according to KDLT News. That information was forwarded to the Lincoln County State’s Attorney’s Office. They plan on filing no charges at this time.
