A Sioux Falls man is in custody and charged in a weekend business break-in, but police believe he may be responsible for numerous other burglaries in the past few months.

51-year old Richard Kyles is sitting in a jail cell on burglary charges stemming from a Friday night break in at Zoup at 41st & Kiwanis, but police believe Kyles is responsible for as many as 30 other break-ins dating back to October 2013.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says Kyles was stopped near 26th & Louise Friday night. Police found a filed down tire iron which they believe was used not only in the Zoup burglary, but 30 burglaries along 41st Street, Minnesota Avenue and Louise Avenue in Sioux Falls.

Kyles has only been charged in the Zoup break in so far and possession of a controlled substance when police found 29 baggies with cocaine residue in his residence.

Cash was stolen from a number of Sioux Falls businesses during break ins from October 2013 through last Friday. Other burglaries that Kyles may be connected to include a number of restaurants: Inca, Golden Bowl, Subway, Red Rossa, Fuji and Guadalajara. Plus Fringe Salon, Science Nutrition, Eyemart, Complete Fitness and LA Nails. Some locations have reported multiple burglaries.
