Sioux Falls is doing a pretty decent job of recycling. The city is recycling at a rate of 23.6 percent, 0.7 percent ahead of the goal for 2017. That makes for a one percent rise from 2016.

“Our recycling rates are heading in the right direction and we want to thank the community for their dedication and understanding of the importance of recycling," Sustainability Coordinator Jessica Sexe said.

"We also want to thank all of the haulers and the material recycling facilities for their hard work to continue to increase the amount of material we recycle. We will continue to work to bring underachieving haulers into compliance and increase our overall recycling rate.”
