Early Tuesday morning Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a house fire at 1016 East 1st Street.

Fire units arrived on scene and found light smoke coming from the first floor of a 2 story single family home.  The resident was out of the home prior to fire crew’s arrival and was unharmed. Fire crews made entry into the home and extinguished the fire in five minutes.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 2 support vehicles, 4 fire trucks, and 19 personnel. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted by Sioux Falls Police and Paramedics Plus Ambulance.

 

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like all residents to check their smoke detectors.
