TV is about to get another cooking show, and this one will be hosted, filmed, and produced right here in Sioux Falls.

It's a dream come true for Jamie, a local retail chef from the Sioux Falls Hy-Vee stores.

For nearly 25 years Chef Jamie has wanted to host his own cooking show, and starting in January he will finally get his chance.

KDLT TV is reporting that the show will be called 'Chef Jamie's Cooking With Soul'. It will air on 40 different television markets nationwide and feature the best of the Midwest when it comes to cooking, travel and entertainment.

The genesis of this project started with a series of Facebook live videos that really took off. According to Chef Jamie, “It started out as a simple segment right here from our Hy-Vee Minnesota Avenue store and we had a couple hundred people check it out the first time. Within three days, the traffic was up to 4,000 and the response was overwhelming.”

Jamie says, the show will showcase what South Dakota has to offer. The plan is to always feature South Dakota made products like Old West Barbeque Sauce. Chef Jamie's goal is to showcase the hospitality of the Midwest, from Sioux Falls, and the region and share it with America.

'Chef Jamie's Cooking With Soul' will be filmed right here in Sioux Falls, with stops planned at local restaurants like; Ode, Crawford's, and Parker's. You can also expect to see local politicians and artists, appear on the show from time to time, along with some big names like Michael Orland, the former musical director of American Idol, and Greg White from the Food Network.

Chef Jamie also plans to host a red carpet event at the Icon Lounge on January 15, (2017) the night the show debuts on TV.

The first season will feature a total of 16, one hour long, episodes.
