Another big bat is joining the Sioux Falls Canaries for the 2013 season.

Infielder Jared Clark, a former minor league all-star and former MiLB.com Organization Player of the Year award winner, is the 23rd player added to the Sioux Falls roster.

Playing in the Colorado Rockies farm system, Clark hit 24 home runs in 2010 to lead the South Atlantic League while playing with the Class A Asheville Tourists. After an injury plagued 2011 season, he bounced back in 2012 with another 24 home runs for the  high-A Modesto Nuts of the California League.

In a team press release, Canaries Manager Steve Shirley said:

Jared will be an important bat in our lineup.  He should be one for our fans to really keep an eye on.

In his career, Clark has 66 home runs and 254 RBI with a .273 lifetime average.

The Canaries open the season at Sioux City, May 16th.  The same two teams play in Sioux Falls the next night for the Birds home opener, May 17th.
