Sioux Falls police are in the process of trying to track down a suspect involved in a New Year's Day robbery that took place in the southwest part of Sioux Falls.

The incident happened around 4:30 on Sunday afternoon, January 1 (2017) at a business near 49th Street and Racket Drive.

KSFY TV is reporting the suspect walked into the business handed the clerk on duty a note saying he had a weapon, and that he wanted money. Authorities say while the suspect never produced a weapon, the clerk did hand over the money and the man immediately fled the scene. No other people were in the business at the time of the robbery.

The suspect is described as a thin, 5' 10" male. The man was wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants at the time of the robbery.
