I don't want to toss a bee into a bonnet, but I just came across a video that really caught my eye. Normally, I stay the heck away from anything political, but I was curious. Let me set a little background information about 'where I come from first.'

I grew up in central South Dakota. Many of my classmates were Indian, or Natives. I get so turned around with all the political correctness stuff, so I mess up, please bear with. I went to school at Lyman County. A big part of that county is the Lower Brule Reservation. Many of my friends in high were and are native. Like us, they were proud of their heritage.

For over 30 years I've worked in radio. The radio station signals  I've worked at have covered many reservations. I've talked with and got to know tons of Native Americans over the years.

My three sons all went to Washington Highs School in Sioux Falls. The Washington Warriors. Personally, I never took offense to the name. I thought it was noble as heck. Warriors. Playing or working together for common good.

Here's where I'm headed. Redskins. Yep. Redskins. Redskins is probably one of those names that crosses the line. It never bothered me growing up that the Washington Redskins were called that. But the older I get and the more I look at it...the more I wonder if it might be time.

I recently saw that there is a commercial that is set to play during the NBA Finals. It's 'very well done.'  It got me thinking. It might get you thinking too. Check it out.
