Police issued a statement just before 1:00 AM on Thursday April 28, 2016 to announce the capture of Sioux Falls shooting suspect Jared Jerome Stone in Southeast Wyoming, after a pursuit through Nebraska and Wyoming.

There were no injuries in the pursuit or arrest.

Lyman County Sheriff Steve Manger said an officer stopped to assist a driver Tuesday afternoon on the side of I-90 near Presho. Stone showed an ID, which they now know was a fake.

Officers later saw the vehicle abandoned on the side of I-90 and investigated further, discovering it to be the one Stone had been driving.

A short time later, a report of a suspicious person walking three miles south of Presho resulted in a door to door search in the area manned by the Lyman County Sheriff’s department, DCI, Highway Patrol and Game fish and parks officials.

Stone allegedly shot Baptiste White Eyes on Friday in a parking lot at 11th and Duluth after an argument.  White Eyes died from the two gunshot wounds.

A person of interest Lachara Bordeaux was known to be with Stone during the shooting and was taken into custody Tuesday in Le Mars Iowa, claiming she was a victim, being held at gun point.  Bordeaux is currently in the process of being extradited back to Sioux Falls.
