Deer on the roadways are usually one of the major causes of #2 above - Car Accidents. According to OnlyInYourState.com, residents of South Dakota (from an early age) know to watch for deer on the roads at dusk and dawn. We also become familiar with certain roads that are common for deer (example: Rice Street - between Sioux Falls and Brandon). And don't forget to pay extra attention to the ditches during hunting season and harvest.

    Sunburn

It sure does seems that there are more WINTER days in South Dakota than SUMMER days. So when the beautiful weather does hit, people in South Dakota want to be outside as much as possible, which may lead to an awful sunburn. Dermatologists might disagree, but one sunburn might not lead to skin cancer, however several sunburns could do some damage.
