With the NBA Finals going on, and the Twins playing on the west coast, you might have missed this triple play that the Twins pulled off.

It was a late night win for the Twins in Anaheim as they defeated the Los Angeles Angels 4-2 on Thursday night (June 1). The play that stood out is one that we don't see very often.

In the bottom of the 4th, the Twins pulled off a 5-4-3 triple play! This was the first time since May 27, 2006 against Seattle that the Twins were able to pull off the feat.

The best part? Apparently Miguel Sano predicted it before the game.

Sano started it all. Sano to Dozier to Mauer. Just like they practiced.

According to the SABR Triple Play Database, this is the 711th triple play in MLB history and the second one to take place during the 2017 season. Baltimore did it back on May 2, 2017 against Boston.

Minnesota first pulled a triple play back on August 18, 1966 against the then California Angels. In total, Minnesota has turned 12 triple plays in franchise history and was on the receiving end of eight of them.
