ELMHURST, IL -- South Dakota State secured the top seed in the upcoming Summit League Baseball Championship for the second time in school history.

The 2013 baseball tournament takes place from May 23-25, at the OU Baseball Field in Rochester, Mich., and is hosted by Oakland University.

The top-seeded Jackrabbits finished 16-10 in league play and are looking for their first league tournament title in school history after placing second three out of the last four years. SDSU dropped just one league series this season and have won 11 of its last 18 games entering the tournament.

Oakland collects the No. 2 seed for the second-straight year and third time in school history. The Golden Grizzlies qualified for their sixth league tournament. North Dakota State secures the No. 3 seed for the third consecutive year and finished runner-up last season, while Western Illinois is the No. 4 seed and is participating in its 17th championship in school history.

No. 1 South Dakota State (31-21, 16-10 Summit) faces No. 4 Western Illinois (18-35, 9-17 Summit) in game one Thursday, at Noon (EDT). No. 2 Oakland (20-33, 15-13 Summit) will meet No. 3 North Dakota State (24-25, 11-13 Summit) in Thursday's second game at 3 p.m. (EDT).
